THE AWARDS
The recipient of each award is given a cash prize and an individual plaque.   Each recipient's name is also inscribed on a cumulative awards plaque.  In addition, a contribution may be made to the AASU Lane Library in honor of the recipient.

The Alumni Award for Distinguished Faculty Service to the Academic Discipline was created in 1971 by the AASU Alumni Association, the Faculty, the Executive Committee, and the Research and Scholarship Committee to recognize outstanding contributions of faculty to their academic disciplines.

H. Dean Propst Award
The H. Dean Propst Award was created by the Student Government Association of Armstrong State College in 1971 to recognize the work of H. Dean Propst, Dean of the College.  A superlative English teacher in the classroom, Dr. Propst was also known for his active involvement in the student life of the campus.
