In Article VII of the By-laws, the AASU Faculty Handbook distinguishes between Committees of the Faculty and Standing Committees of the University. Appointments to the faculty committees (with the exception of the Executive Committee and the Curriculum Committee) are recommended by the Executive Committee and approved by vote of the faculty as a whole. University committee members are nominated by the Vice President and Dean of Faculty or the Executive Committee and appointed by the president. Through forms distributed each spring by the Office of Academic Affairs, full-time faculty with at least one year of service at AASU may request to serve on either a Committee of the Faculty or a Committee of the University. Committee minutes and reports are available at the Academic Affairs web site. |
